Donald Bohannon, MD, Celebrates Retirement

Donald S. Bohannon, MD, joined the Department of Anesthesiology in 2009. In his 10 and a half years with us, he served as an Associate Professor with the Acute and Perioperative Pain Medicine Division.

During his time here, Dr. Bohannon was an integral part of the team. He acted as Clinical Instructor to residents & fellows (2009 – 2019), Director for the Transition to Practice Resident Rotation (2012 – 2015), Patient Family Centered Care Initiative (Total Joint) (2015 – Present), and Development of Ambulatory Total Joint Arthroplasty (TJA) Pilot Project (2016 – 2017).

One of his residents said of him, “One of my all-time favorite attendings! Truly knows his stuff and always lets his residents try before stepping in. Great to work with.” This sentiment has been echoed by many.

After his departure, he will return to his farm in Georgia.
