Vascular Anesthesia

Our vascular anesthesiologists work in concert with the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Surgery to provide anesthesia care for a comprehensive spectrum of major vascular surgery cases.

Mission

Our mission is to provide exemplary anesthetic management and deliver the highest quality of care to our vascular surgical patients.

Our Cases

The majority of our cases are performed at UF Health Shands, our main teaching institution. The surgical procedures performed here include peripheral vascular surgery, carotid artery revascularization, carotid-subclavian bypass, amputations, and minor debridement to complex open and endovascular thoracoabdominal aortic reconstructions.

Our faculty demonstrate expertise in the high-acuity anesthesia care and anesthetic management of the challenging vascular patients presenting with significant co-morbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery disease, diabetes, cerebrovascular disease, and hemodialysis-dependent end-stage renal disease.

UF Health is a major medical referral center statewide for individuals who are the most complex vascular patients, and colleagues throughout the Southeast frequently send their patients to UF Health for more complicated vascular operations not offered at their own institutions.

UF Health Heart & Vascular Hospital

The UF Health Heart & Vascular hospital is a state-of-the-art facility. It is the Southeast’s most advanced home for the care of patients with vascular illness and focuses solely on patients with heart and vascular needs. The hospital features multiple hybrid operating rooms with the capability of adapting to rapidly changing medical technology.
