The UF Health Comprehensive Spine Center opened its doors to patients in August. The center provides expert, personalized solutions for both common and complex neck and back pain in one convenient location.
The center houses all specialties in one place, said Rene Przkora, MD, PhD, Division Chief of the Chronic Pain Medicine Division and Associate Professor of Anesthesiology. Patients of the center have convenient access to Pain Medicine, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
This multidisciplinary approach facilitates communication between specialties, expediting the process of care so treatment can begin as quickly as possible. Patients are able to speak with a specialist face-to-face at the time of their visit, fostering a greater level of personalized care and patient comfort. Rather than visiting multiple practices and waiting on referrals, patients can expect all their needs to be met at the center.
The new state-of-the-art facility combining all specialties offers advanced medical, interventional, minimally invasive and surgical treatment options. Most patients can be treated with a non-surgical approach.
Patients can request an appointment at the UF Health Comprehensive Spine Center by calling 352-265-SPNE (7763).
