
Please help us welcome Harvey Livingstone, MBChB, MMedSc, FRCA, to the University of Florida (UF) Department of Anesthesiology. He joins us as an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology.
Livingstone earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Leeds School of Medicine in England. He also completed his senior anesthesia program in Leeds, England, and a fellowship through the Royal College of Anesthetists. Recently, he worked as a consultant in pediatric anesthesia at the Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust. In this position, he specialized in plastic and reconstructive surgery, interventional radiology, and adolescent urology. At Alder Hey, he was the chair for the medical devices safety committee, which oversaw all aspects of medical device use including training and maintenance.
Livingstone’s interest in medical devices is also shown in his active membership in the International Organization for Standardization, which provides standards and guidelines for goods and services. He serves on a committee dedicated to setting standards for anesthetic and respiratory equipment and has shared his knowledge of the field in various national lectures in the United Kingdom.
In his free time, he likes to play bass guitar and squash. He also enjoys walking his two dogs in the countryside.
