Dr. Basma Mohamed

Congratulations to Assistant Professor Basma Mohamed, MBChB, who has joined the patient education section of the Education Committee of the Society of Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC).

Dr. Mohamed expressed interest to the chair of the education committee and highlighted her work in the Perioperative Medicine Division.

In this role, Dr. Mohamed will participate in forming patient education materials related to the role of the neuroanesthesiologist in neurosurgery, in addition to patient expectations when they undergo neurosurgery procedures.

SNACC works to advance the care of neurologically impaired patients through education, training, and research in perioperative neuroscience. The Education Committee is responsible for all of the educational activities of SNACC, except organizing the Annual Meeting, including developing and updating online material and providing educational content as directed by the Board of Directors.

Dr. Mohamed, who is also Assistant Program Director for Resident Wellness and a member of the UF Health Comprehensive Spine Center, also serves on the Maintenance of Certification Question Author Committee for the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is involved in several other professional societies, including the American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring, the Society of Perioperative Assessment and Quality Improvement, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists.
