Dianne M. Fontanez-Nieves, MD, joined us on June 1, 2020, as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology.
Dr. Fontanez-Nieves was most recently an Associate Consultant in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamón, Puerto Rico; she completed her Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Puerto Rico, during which time she also served as Chief Resident.
She is a member of several anesthesiology and medical organizations, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine and American Society of Anesthesiologists, and she has also made a significant number of contributions to abstracts, oral presentations, and publications. Her research experience has included renal transplant outcomes.
In her free time, Dr. Fontanez-Nieves enjoys reading, painting, ceramic sculpturing, writing, hiking, and kayaking.
