UF Department of Anesthesiology rises in 2019 Blue Ridge rankings

Our department is now ranked #29 in the country among all anesthesiology departments for NIH research funding in the 2019 Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research rankings.

The ranking is a jump from 2018, when the department was ranked #36.

Among principal investigators in Anesthesiology, Rene Przkora, MD, PhD, Professor of Anesthesiology, Chief of the Pain Medicine Division, and Director of the Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship, was ranked #55. Sylvain Doré, PhD, FAHA, Professor of Anesthesiology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Pharmaceutics, and Neuroscience and Director of Anesthesiology Research Programs, was ranked #99. Patrick Tighe, MD, MS, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, the Donn M. Dennis MD Professor in Anesthetic Innovation, Co-Director of the Perioperative Cognitive Anesthesia Network, and Associate Professor of Orthopaedics and Information Systems and Operations Management was #119.
