About Sonia D Mehta

Dr. Mehta is an Associate Professor in the division of Pediatric Anesthesiology. She received her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University and came to UF in 2007 for her internship and residency in anesthesiology. She then went back to Ohio to complete a Pediatric Fellowship at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital before returning to UF as an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Mehta has been awarded the Exemplary Teaching Award at UF and has been a visiting professor at Nova Southeast University and Santa Rosa, Honduras. She has a passion for education and enjoys teaching and finding ways for people to learn and retain information. In her free time, Dr. Mehta likes to play piano and sing, travel, and spend time with family and friends. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and holds an ABA, Subspecialty Certification, in both Pediatric Anesthesiology and Basic Transesophageal Echocardiography. She is also a member of many professional societies such as the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists.
