Melissa Vu, M.D.

My name is Melissa Vu, M.D., and I am an associate professor in the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology. I first served in the UF Department of Anesthesiology from 2008-2016 and rejoined in 2026.

I earned my medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Kansas City, which is where I also completed my anesthesiology residency. I finished my fellowship in cardiovascular/thoracic anesthesia at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. I also have a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Missouri.

My research has featured topics such as spinal fusion surgery, endocarditis, and the pulmonary valve. I have also given national lectures on the management of obstructive sleep apnea.
