About William P Mulvoy

My name is William Mulvoy III, MD, MPH, MBA, and I joined the UF Department of Anesthesiology in the Divisions of Critical Care Medicine and Cardiothoracic Anesthesia as an assistant professor in 2024. I earned my medical degree, master of business administration, and master of public health at Saint George’s University in Grenada. I completed my internal medicine internship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and then completed my anesthesiology residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis. After that, I completed fellowships in both Critical Care Medicine and Cardiac Anesthesiology at The Texas Heart Institute in Houston.

Time in the intensive care unit is both physically and emotionally difficult, and addressing the needs of both the patient and their loved ones is essential to my personal approach to comprehensive care. Helping families through these tough times is vital to compassionate critical care medicine.

My clinical interests include pharmacoeconomics and expenditures within the health care setting, the practice of anesthesiology in austere environments, and public health disparities in urban hospital settings. I’m board certified in anesthesiology, critical care medicine, advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography, critical care echocardiography, and cardiac anesthesiology.

In my spare time, I enjoy crossfit, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, hiking, and camping. Being in the wilderness and enjoying nature is sheer bliss for me, and I cherish the solitude of finding hidden places in the wilderness that are still untouched by urbanization. Being able to connect with nature helps me stay energized for the rigors of being a physician.
