About Harvey Livingstone
My name is Harvey Livingstone, MBChB, MMedSc, FRCA, and I joined the UF Department of Anesthesiology in 2026 as an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology.
I earned my Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Leeds School of Medicine in England. I completed my senior anesthesia program in Leeds, England, and a fellowship through the Royal College of Anesthetists. Before joining UF, I worked as a consultant in pediatric anesthesia at the Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust for nearly two decades. In this position, I specialized in plastic and reconstructive surgery, interventional radiology, and adolescent urology. At Alder Hey, I was the chair for the medical devices safety committee, which oversaw all aspects of medical device use including training and maintenance.
I have always liked the technological aspects of anesthesiology, including the number and variety of medical devices used. I am a part of the International Organization for Standardization, which provides standards and guidelines for goods and services, and I serve on a committee dedicated to setting standards for anesthetic and respiratory equipment. I also have expertise with a variety of digital systems including EPRs, AIMS, and theatre integration systems.
In my free time, I enjoy playing bass guitar and squash, and walking my dogs in the countryside.
