Jeeva George, MBBS, M.D., D.M.

My name is Jeeva George, MBBS, M.D., and I am an assistant professor in the UF Department of Anesthesiology Division of Neuroanesthesiology. Working in different areas of the hospital for two years after my receiving my MBBS degree really shaped my perspective. I realized my place was in the ICU and the operating room. For me, the most fulfilling part of medicine is simply being a reassuring presence for my patients—making sure they are out of pain and completely safe during surgery.

I earned my MBBS degree from the Christian Medical College in India, where I also completed a medical degree in anesthesiology. I finished my Doctor of Medicine in neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences, a pioneer in comprehensive epilepsy care and a leading quaternary referral center.

My clinical expertise centers on advanced neuroanesthesia, providing specialized perioperative care for complex brain and spine interventions. I focus on tailored anesthetic management for epilepsy surgeries, supratentorial and posterior fossa tumour resections, and complex spine fixations. Additionally, I am experienced in navigating the unique hemodynamic challenges of intracranial vascular surgeries as well as advanced functional neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiological procedures.

My research interests focus on transcranial Doppler and intraoperative neuromonitoring, specifically investigating their role in optimizing patient safety and significantly improving postoperative outcomes.
