About Michael Franklin

Michael Franklin, DO, joined us in September of 2018 as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia. He came to us from our own Department of Anesthesiology, where he completed his Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship. He earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Anesthesiology residency at LSU Health Shreveport where he worked as a staff anesthesiologist for a year following his residency.

Dr. Franklin has significant volunteer experience and has made numerous contributions to peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and presentations. His hobbies include bicycling, SCUBA diving, and CrossFit and he is an avid dog lover with two Australian Shepherds at home.
