Tyler Fong, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology
About Tyler Fong
My name is Tyler Fong, M.D., and I joined the UF Department of Anesthesiology as an assistant professor in the Division of Acute Pain Medicine in 2024.
I earned my medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada and completed my anesthesiology residency at Rutgers Health in Livingston NJ. I then joined the University of Florida Department of Anesthesiology, first as an assistant professor and then as a Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine fellow. After a year as an anesthesiologist with the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute in Orlando, FL, I returned to the University of Florida.
My attraction to medicine stems from wanting to better understand the workings of the human body and how to improve or care for someone’s life. Prior to medical school, I was an emergency medical technician and there seemed to be a natural segue into anesthesiology. As an anesthesiologist, I value the responsibilities with which I’ve been charged; I’m responsible for safeguarding patients through the perioperative period and effectively managing postoperative pain.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors and traveling with my wife.
