About David S Fishman
My name is David Fishman, M.D., and I am an associate professor in the UF Department of Anesthesiology’s Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology.
Prior to coming to the department, I was an associate professor of anesthesiology at North Shore University Hospital, where I was a part of its pharmacy and therapeutics committee and clinical competence committee. Before this, I was the clinical director and residency program director at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. At SUNY, I was the chair for the resident education committee and program evaluation committee.
I earned my medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center. I completed my anesthesiology residency at SUNY Health, where I was a chief resident. Before my residency, I did an internship in medicine at Long Island College Hospital. I also have a Bachelor of Arts from New York University.
I’m very proud to currently be an applied examiner with the American Board of Anesthesiology. My research interests include advanced airway management and regional anesthesia, and I have given presentations about frailty assessment, congenital heart disease, and metabolic disorders.
