Raquel T Buser, M.D.
Assistant Professor Of Anesthesiology
About Raquel T Buser
My name is Raquel Buser, M.D., and I joined the Department of Anesthesiology in 2023 as an assistant professor in the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology. I received my bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Denver and my medical degree from the University of Colorado. I completed my internship in internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland, a residency in anesthesiology at Mayo Graduate School in Jacksonville, Florida, and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
I come from a very small town with limited healthcare access and have always wanted to make a difference for those who also have limited access to the care they need. Before I became an assistant professor with the department, I was a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy and a pediatric anesthesiologist at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. I love this country and all the opportunities I’ve had to pursue humanitarian efforts as a pediatric anesthesiologist in the Navy.
In my free time, I enjoy swimming, cycling, yoga, golf, tennis and surfing. I have a wonderful daughter, two goldendoodles, and two cats.
