About Robin J Bergbauer
Robin Bergbauer, M.D., joined the UF Department of Anesthesiology in September of 2021 as an assistant professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. She joins us from HCA Healthcare in New Port Richey, Florida, where she worked as a cardiovascular anesthesiologist.
Dr. Bergbauer earned her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed her anesthesiology residency at the University of California San Francisco, after which she completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology in our department. She then worked on faculty at UF for two years in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology before transitioning to private practice in Alaska and Florida. Dr. Bergbauer also worked as a registered nurse in Florida before attending medical school.
She is an author of a peer-reviewed publication on the perioperative challenges of valvular replacement in patients after mediastinal radiation therapy, which was published in the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia, and she has also presented research at the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting.
