Resident Success
Residents that complete their training at the University of Florida will be equipped to handle any situation in the perioperative period. Each year roughly half of our residents continue their training and complete fellowships in both the ACGME and non-ACGME accredited sub-specialties. Our trainees get jobs all around the country, and therefore the employment contacts are endless when you are a graduate from the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Florida. From this past year’s graduating class of 2012, fellowship or employment destinations included: North Carolina, New York, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, and California. We are ecstatic to have 8 of our graduates staying here at the University of Florida!
Extracurricular Involvement

By training at UF, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved in the political or social aspects of our profession. Residents are encouraged to present at and attend regional and national meetings. Our own Dr. Jerry Cohen is currently the president of the American Society of Anesthesiology.
