Matt Gunst, MD, is currently a CA-2 resident at UF.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the Incarnate Word and his Medical Degree from the University of Texas. We lured him away from his delicious Texas barbecue for the opportunity to be a part of something great here at UF!
“UF gave me the opportunity to be a part of a large tertiary care center that takes care of a substantial volume of complex cases with incredible variety. What I didn’t fully appreciate until I arrived in Gainesville was how wonderful it would be to be a member of such a dynamic and passionate team.
The faculty are easy to approach and are the best clinical teachers. The combination of challenging cases and supporting attendings makes the clinical training at UF second to none. I have learned vast amounts of knowledge and the environment here at UF keeps me thirsting for more!
My co-residents have become family to me, and we interact often around town, at tailgates, and on road trips. Gainesville and the surrounding area is vibrant with unbeatable live music, breathtaking springs, and endless adventures. I have fallen in love here at “The Swamp”. I wake up every morning feeling incredibly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful program.”
