The Department of Anesthesiology selects from among eligible applicants on the basis of residency program-related criteria such as their preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity.

The core Anesthesiology Residency Program selects qualified applicants from the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS®) supplemented by Residency Central Application (https://centralapp.accessgme.com) at the level of PGY-1 or PGY-2 who have not completed any graduate medical education beyond the PGY-1 level. Rules of the NRMP govern the conduct of the applicants and of the Anesthesiology Residency Program.
