Step 15 (1 hour): Speed skills training
In critical care, speed of acquisition becomes an important skill to obtain in the acutely crashing hemodynamically unstable patient. Practice makes perfect, so this next part of the module aims to improve your speed of using the ultrasound machines in your particular unit that you practice.
Speed Skills:
If you are part of a UF Health training program (advanced practice provider, resident, fellow, or faculty), go to your intensive care unit or emergency department setting and obtain 3 “A line” image spaces of 3 different patients in 15 minutes or less. Be sure to place appropriate patient information data, operator information, and labels for body parts examined.
If you are a student please use “student” in the name of unit obtained, and appropriate date.
