Dr. Kiley is the Division Chief of Critical Care Medicine and is responsible for critical care clinical services, research efforts, and education related to critical care. He also works with the divisions of Multispecialty Anesthesiology and Vascular Anesthesia. Dr. Kiley first came to the University of Florida in 1993 as an undergraduate student. He is a proud Gator and has remained in Gainesville throughout the duration of his educational process and post-graduate training. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology in 2011 and fellowship in Critical Care Medicine in 2013.

His multiple publications have focused on point of care ultrasound in critical care and anesthesia. It is his intention to increase awareness of ultrasound as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool that a clinician can use in real time at the bedside and in the operating room. To this end, he has been a lecturer and workshop instructor at several international meetings with focus on point of care ultrasound.

In addition to his research, Dr. Kiley has great interest in resident and medical student education. He serves as Assistant Director of anesthesia clerkship for 4th year medical students and helped to design a new curriculum which combines anesthesia and critical care in the 4th year clerkship. This is a web based curriculum which uses online modules combined with classroom discussion and simulation.
