Incoming Endoscopic Spine Fellows
Adam Delora, M.D., M.S.,
Delora earned his medical degree from the University of New Mexico. He completed an emergency medicine residency at the University of Houston and then two fellowships: a neurocritical care fellowship at Cleveland Clinic and a pain medicine fellowship at Rush University. He also has a Master of Science in computer science and a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from the University of New Mexico.
During his residency, Delora scheduled events for his program and helped create a rigorous curriculum. He was a member of the college’s stroke committee, where he developed policies for the acute management of strokes. His most recent experiences had him in rural areas of Texas and Ohio, where he provided coverage for emergency departments.
 Abdul Qudoos Shahid, M.D.
Shahid earned his medical degree from the Iberoamerican University in the Dominican Republic. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Center, a pain and palliative medicine fellowship at Ohio State University, and an interventional pain fellowship at the University of Rochester. He went to Marquette University for his undergraduate degree.
In his last year of residency, Shahid won the Resident Academic Award and the John L. Plewes Award for being an outstanding resident. At the 2011 Midwest Anesthesia Residents’ Conference, his case won best presentation. He has also conducted research about the modulation of neural pathways and its effects on ischemic heart via spinal cord stimulation. In addition, he has been on humanitarian mission trips to Pakistan and Guatemala to provide medical services.
Incoming Pain Medicine Fellows
Nikhil “Nick” Bhana, M.D.
Bhana earned his medical degree from Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. He completed his emergency residency at the University of Massachusetts. He has a Bachelor of Science in biology from Temple University.
As a resident, he worked on complex pain cases and got hands-on experience in the interventional pain management office at the University of Massachusetts. Additionally, he was a clinical researcher for Harvard Medical School’s Department of Internal Medicine, where he helped perform a survey aimed at preventing unnecessary separation of mothers and newborns during the COVID-19 pandemic, showing that skin-to-skin care and breastfeeding are safe for SARS-CoV-2-infected mothers.
Justin Buck, D.O.
Buck earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a transitional year at Mercy Catholic Medical Center and his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Central Florida. He has a Bachelor of Science in biology from Queens University of Charlotte.
At medical school, Buck was voted student doctor for March 2019 by his peers for making noteworthy contributions to the student body. During his residency, he gained experience in treating diverse pain conditions and practicing regenerative medicine techniques. At HCA Florida West Hospital, he was a pain stewardship committee member, where he helped refine hospital protocols and advance pain management practices.
Ryan Keller, D.O.
Keller earned his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Chicago. He has a Bachelor of Science in business from Southern Illinois University.
Keller was most recently an anesthesiologist at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, where he was the educational and M&M lead for the anesthesia department. Prior to that he was the medical director for Steamboat Orthopedic and Spine Institute, where he led and assisted with the development of a new outpatient orthopedic surgery center. In this role, he provided upper extremity peripheral nerve blocks and spinals for lower extremity procedures daily.
Joel Rodriguez, M.D.
Rodriguez received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He finished his emergency medicine residency at John Peter Smith Hospital. He has a Bachelor of Science in biology from Baylor University. Â Â
During his residency, Rodriguez did an away rotation at UF, where he participated in a case study about the treatment of low back pain with fluoroscopic percutaneous sacroplasty. His second case study focused on using an anterior cutaneous nerve block for chronic abdominal pain due to anterior cutaneous nerve entrapment. He was a medical mission team leader for the University of Texas Southwestern, where he organized a one-week surgical and medical trip to Guatemala.
Sounak Roy, M.D.
Roy earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. He has a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology and biomedical science from Johns Hopkins University.
As a resident, Roy was the liaison and physician representative for the Pain Oversight and Stewardship Committee, where he collaborated with others to promote safe, evidence-based use of narcotics and controlled substances. In this role, he also assessed protocol-driven results and refined policies with management. At John Hopkins, he was awarded the Dean’s Undergraduate Research Award, where he developed a novel immunofluorescence protocol to detect prostate cancer. Additionally, his research was recognized by the American Association for Cancer Research with the Thomas J. Bardos Science Education award. Â
George “Bailey” Walbridge, D.O.
Walbridge received his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He finished his emergency medicine residency at Western Michigan Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He has a Bachelor of Science in science from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
During medical school, Walbridge earned the Carmen Pettapiece Research Fellowship award for an exploratory study to assess the profile of clients at the Portland Needle Exchange during COVID-19. At Western Michigan, he was a primary investigator for two cases: one about Haldol and Toradol in the treatment of acute on chronic back pain, and the other about anesthetic technique for multiple lacerations and patient satisfaction.
