Please help us welcome Kyle Chan, M.D., who joins the UF Department of Anesthesiology as an assistant professor in the Divisions of Liver Transplant and Multispecialty Anesthesiology.
Chan earned his medical degree from the UF College of Medicine and recently completed his anesthesiology residency here at our department, where he was a chief resident. He received his Bachelor of Arts in public health and molecular & cellular biology from the University of California, Berkley.
During residency, Chan collected many accolades, such as lifetime membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society and an outstanding achievement award in the Division of Liver and Transplant Anesthesiology at this year’s graduation ceremony. In his CA-2 year, he was a part of the paired period team that piloted a new model for helping interns transition into the operating room. He also participated in research, including studying the benefits of ascorbic acid after postreperfusion syndrome, airway management in trauma and emergency medicine bays, and how early training of residents improves long-term retention on performing informed consent.
In his free time, Chan enjoys playing violin, chess, and basketball.
