The UF Department of Anesthesiology is pleased to announce our three new chief residents for the upcoming academic year. Victor Adepoju, M.D., Rachel Baker, M.D., and Jonah Whiteside, M.D., will serve from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027.
As chief residents, they will work together as a team to support their co-residents and the missions of the department, the UF College of Medicine, and UF Health. This challenging but rewarding role requires responsible physicians with strong communication skills who are willing to make tough decisions.
Adepoju, Baker, and Whiteside were chosen because they showed leadership qualities, high academic achievement, and professionalism in their third year of anesthesiology residency. Additionally, they have displayed a high level of interest in research, frequently participating in research conferences.
Nominees for the role are voted on by faculty and fellow residents, and the top three are selected as chiefs. Please join us in congratulating Drs. Adepoju, Baker, and Whiteside!
We would also like to acknowledge our former chief residents for their steadfast leadership during the 2025-2026 academic year. Many thanks to Kyle Chan, M.D., Kellen Creech, D.O., and Ally Tragesser, M.D.
