

Rene Przkora, M.D., Ph.D., FASA, professor of anesthesiology, associate chair for research, chief of the Division of Pain Medicine, and director of our Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship, has been selected as the recipient of the award for Educational Stewardship & Leadership in Pain Medicine by the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP).
Przkora was recognized for his outstanding leadership, mentorship, and commitment to advancing pain medicine education. His contributions have strengthened trainees, programs, and the broader academic community.
The organization’s goal is to promote the development and practice of safe, high-quality interventional pain management techniques. Przkora has been an active member of this society since 2016 and recently served on the judging panel for its 2025 annual meeting. He was honored at the ASIPP Annual Meeting on March 20th during its breakfast symposium.
Additionally, Przkora was elected to serve as the chair of the Research Committee of the Association of Pain Program Directors within the Society of Academic Associations of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine.
