Rene Przkora

Rene Przkora, M.D., Ph.D., FASA, professor of anesthesiology, has been appointed to two American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) committees, which focus on academics. He will fulfill a two-year adjunct term for ASA’s 2026 Committee on Academic Anesthesiology. He will also engage in a one-year member term for ASA’s 2026 Educational Track Subcommittee on Pain Medicine. With other anesthesiologists, he will partake in educational initiatives and improve the academics of anesthesiology.

ASA is one of the most reputable organizations in the field, where anesthesiologists work together and elevate the standards of the medical practice of anesthesiology. They improve patient care and safety as well as make research and scientific discoveries. ASA gives anesthesiologists the opportunity to expand their research and scientific knowledge, and it provides leadership and professional development opportunities.

Przkora has been an active member of ASA since 2006 and has participated in various committees, such as the Committee on Economics and the Committee on Practice Management.

In announcing the appointments, President-Elect Patrick Giam, M.D., thanked Przkora for the dedicated leadership he has shown within ASA. He also highlighted his contributions to patients and the field of anesthesia.

Overall, these appointments acknowledge Przkora’s commitment to the discipline of anesthesiology and the education within it.

Congratulations, Dr. Przkora!
