Three CA-2 residents scored in the top 10% nationally on the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) BASIC Examination in June. Congratulations to Victor Adepoju, M.D., Dimitri Kampouris, M.D., and Rohan Patel, M.D., on their outstanding performance!
The BASIC Examination is the first exam of the ABA board certification process. It tests residents on their scientific understanding of anesthesiology and focuses on specific areas, like pharmacology and anesthesia equipment. This exam is usually taken at the end of an anesthesiology resident’s first clinical year and helps them on their way to becoming an anesthesiologist.
By performing well on the exam, residents show that they are building a strong foundation of knowledge and meeting the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.
These high scores are a testament to our residents’ commitment to hard work and lifelong learning.
