Elvio Andres Mazzotta, M.D., joins the department

Please join us in welcoming Elvio Andres Mazzotta, M.D., to the UF Department of Anesthesiology as an assistant professor in the Division of Neuroanesthesiology.

Mazzotta earned his medical degree at the National University of Córdoba in Argentina where he also completed an anesthesiology residency at a private hospital. After this residency, he went to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, for a neuroanesthesia fellowship and anesthesiology residency. At Ohio State University, he received the highest in-training exam score in both his PGY-1 class and his CA-1 class. He was also a part of the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research Resident Scholar Program and has contributed to more than a dozen peer-reviewed publications.

In his postdoctoral training, Mazzotta focused on the enteric nervous system, which became one of his specific interests. He also has special expertise in a few areas, such as neuroanesthesia, spinal surgery, neurointerventional procedures, brain tumors, and deep brain stimulation.

In his free time, Mazzotta enjoys spending time with his family and cooking. He is a passionate fan of soccer and Formula 1 racing.
