We are thrilled to announce CA3 resident Anthony Boateng, M.D., and CA2 residents Kellen Creech, D.O., and Abby Schirmer, M.D., were inducted into the UF Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) chapter on May 2.
The GHHS chapter at the UF College of Medicine is called the Chapman Society and is one of more than 180 chapters in medical schools and residency programs. Members are expected to be humanistic leaders and lead initiatives that foster the human connection in healthcare. The GHHS community is made up of medical students, physicians, and other leaders who have been recognized for their compassionate care.
Nominations consist of letters of recommendation citing specific examples of humanistic behavior and character. Current members present at the election meeting vote to extend membership based on things like maintaining compassion in the face of adversity, excellence in teaching, and involvement in service-related activities.
Congratulations Drs. Boateng, Creech, and Schirmer!
