Members of the UF Department of Anesthesiology Division of Pain Medicine, including some of our Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine fellows, traveled to the 23rd Annual Pain Medicine Meeting hosted by the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine in November.
Fellow Aaran Varatharajan, M.D., was honored with a Resident/Fellow Best of Meeting Travel Award for his abstract titled, “Outcomes of the minimally invasive lumbar decompression procedure to treat symptomatic lumbar spinal stenosis.” Varatharajan’s co-authors include faculty members Matthew Meroney, M.D., Amir Jafari, D.O., Terrie Vasilopoulos, Ph.D., Juan Mora, M.D., and Rene Przkora, M.D., Ph.D. As part of the award, Varatharajan conducted an oral presentation, and his poster based on the abstract was displayed during the conference.
Przkora, who is a professor of anesthesiology and the director of our Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship, was also featured at the conference as an invited speaker. Przkora gave a presentation on neuromodulation.
Congratulations, Drs. Varatharajan and Przkora!
