Two new faculty join the department

Please join us in welcoming two new faculty members who have recently joined the Department of Anesthesiology. Emuejevoke “Voke” Chuba, M.S., M.D., joins the Divisions of Critical Care Medicine and Cardiothoracic Anesthesia as an assistant professor and Spencer Moreland, M.D., joins the Divisions of Critical Care Medicine and Liver & Transplant Anesthesiology as an assistant professor.


Emuejevoke Chuba

Dr. Chuba earned her medical degree from the University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria, and her Master of Science in clinical research at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY. She then completed her anesthesiology residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and fellowships in Critical Care Anesthesiology and Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Chuba is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and is passionate about patient safety, reducing health care disparities, and promoting local and international anesthesia education. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and family time.


Spencer Moreland

Dr. Moreland earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, and completed his anesthesiology residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He then completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Dr. Moreland became a physician because life sciences have always interested him and he wanted a challenging job that would let him directly help people. In his free time he enjoys fishing, hiking, and taking family walks.
