Burhan Kazaal, M.D., joins the department

Burhan Kazaal, M.D., joined the department this month as an assistant professor in the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology.

Burhan Kazaal

Kazaal earned his medical degree from Damascus University in Damascus, Syria.  After working as a primary care physician at Riyadh Central Hospital in Saudi Arabia for several years, he came to the United States and completed a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in neuroanesthesiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He then completed fellowships in critical care medicine and pain management at the University of South Florida. Between 2003 and 2023, he also worked as a consultant anesthesiologist for the Prince Sultan Military Medical City Department of Anesthesia, and was an instructor in the CPR center teaching ACLS, BLS, and PALS.

Outsize the hospital, Kazaal enjoys spending time with his daughters and teaching them that reading and seeking knowledge is a continuous, lifelong process. He also enjoys cooking and gardening with his wife.
