Chris Samouce, Ph.D., joins faculty

Chris Samouce

Chris Samouce, Ph.D., has been promoted to assistant scientist in the division of research and will continue to work with the Center for Safety, Simulation & Advanced Learning Technologies (CSSALT). He joined CSSALT in October as a software engineer.

Samouce earned both his B.S. and Ph.D. in physics from the University of Florida. Before joining us, he worked as a process engineer for Mattrix Technologies, Inc. where he led projects and developed a technique for spray coating carbon nanotube films used in a novel display technology.

Samouce is currently leading a CSSALT team in the development of an online, interactive defibrillator simulation. He was also awarded an IHAF 2023 Education Award for a project to develop a hand-tracking system for use in ultrasound-guided PIV placement simulators.
