Albert Robinson, M.D., associate professor of anesthesiology, and Hamad Sagheer, M.D., CA-1, traveled to Washington, D.C., last month to attend the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ 2023 Legislative Conference.

Robinson said anesthesiologists from around the country traveled to the capitol to advocate for patient care, preserving safe care for veterans, and working to ensure a robust anesthesiology workforce.

The conference provides an opportunity for anesthesiologists to meet with members of congress and discuss issues relating to the field.

Department of Anesthesiology resident Hamad Sagheer, M.D., was chosen by the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists to attend the conference. He said some of the issues he discussed included Medicaid reimbursement, title misappropriation, and higher standards of patient care for veterans.

Thank you to Dr. Robinson and Dr. Sagheer for representing UF and our specialty at the capitol!
