Rohan Patel, M.D., is the recipient of the 2023 JS Gravenstein Award. This award is presented each year to an outstanding University of Florida College of Medicine graduate who intends to pursue anesthesiology.
Patel was selected by UF Department of Anesthesiology leadership based on his record of achievements and demonstrated interest in anesthesiology. Most recently he worked with Josh Sappenfield, M.D., associate professor of anesthesiology, on research regarding preoperative cardiac stress tests and their ability to predict intraoperative and postoperative complications in liver transplants.
Before attending UF’s College of Medicine, Patel earned his bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Florida in 2019. He will join our Anesthesiology Residency Program as a PGY1 resident and triple gator on July 1, 2023.
