Yahya Acar, M.D., a Center for Safety, Simulation & Advanced Learning Technologies (CSSALT) fellow, was awarded second place on his oral presentation at the Trauma Anesthesiology Congress (TASCON) in New Orleans this October. His presentation, titled “Assessment of a Mixed Reality Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA) Training Simulator with Virtual Coach for Mastery Learning”, was based on CSSALT’s REBOA study.
Acar brought the REBOA simulator to TASCON and demoed it for conference participants. His presentation was one of the three best studies selected before the congress to be evaluated by a committee. TASCON accepts academic submissions and case reports relevant to trauma anesthesia, critical care, pre-hospital care, and trauma simulation.
Acar is especially thankful to Nikolaus Gravenstein, M.D., Samsun Lampotang, Ph.D., and Joshua Sappenfield, M.D., for their support throughout the study and presentation phases.
Congratulations, Dr. Acar!
