Prodip Bose, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of anesthesiology, neurology and physiological sciences and director of the MRI & Translational Neurotrauma Rehabilitation Lab, has been named interim director of the Brain Rehabilitation Research Center of Excellence (BRRC) at the Malcom Randall Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center (MRVAMC). Dr. Bose was selected by a MRVAMC-wide committee and has been endorsed by the Veteran Affairs (VA) Rehabilitation Research and Development Central Office.
Dr. Bose joined the BRRC in 2006 and has had an impressive record of VA and extramural support, resulting in seven merit awards as Principal Investigator, and many other merit and SPiRE awards as Co-Investigator. He has successfully obtained grants to support equipment and infrastructure and has served as Associate Director of the BRRC since 2019.
Dr. Bose will assume the role of Principal Investigator of the current BRRC award (2019-2024), as well as the competitive renewal proposal, which will be submitted in early January 2023. His outstanding record of scholarship, publication and grant funding position him well to serve in this capacity.
