Yosaf Zeyed, M.D., M.S., Joins Faculty

Yosaf Zeyed

Yosaf Zeyed, M.D., M.S., joined us on Aug. 1 as an assistant professor in the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesia. He joins us from West Virginia University, where he served as assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology since 2018.

Dr. Zeyed earned his medical degree from Benghazi University and his Master of Science of Clinical Investigation from Vanderbilt University. He completed his anesthesiology residency and a fellowship in liver transplant anesthesia at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

One of his ongoing research projects is evaluating the quality of using intravenous midazolam preoperatively. He also received an award from the Vanderbilt Institute of Clinical and Translational Research for research on circulating microRNA and acute lung injury.

Dr. Zeyed has made numerous contributions to abstracts, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications, and he is a member of several professional societies.
