Twenty-seven physicians have matched with our department to begin their anesthesiology residency with us in the upcoming academic year, including three graduates of the University of Florida College of Medicine who will be joining us as interns and two who will be joining us as CA-1s.
This year, our department successfully matched 20 new categorical (4-year) residents, six new “reserved for physician” (3-year) residents, and one new “advanced” physician who will begin training at UF as a CA-1 in July 2023.
These physicians come from a broad variety of backgrounds and medical schools. All matches were extremely competitive.
The graduates of the UF College of Medicine coming in as interns are Kyle Chan, Jessica Mandel, and Allyson Tragesser. Our CA-1 UF College of Medicine graduates are Travis Bryant and Vanessa Metellus. The graduates of the Class of 2022 shared their matches during a Match Day ceremony to mark the important milestone on Friday, March 18.
More than 42,000 physicians across the country learned where they would spend the next three to seven years during this year’s National Resident Matching Program week.
