Patrick Millan, M.D., joins the department

Patrick Millan

Patrick Millan, M.D., joined us in March as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the Division of Cardiovascular Anesthesia. He graduated from our Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship in June 2021 and has worked since at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center.

Dr. Millan earned his medical degree from Florida State University and completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Virginia.  

He is a member of several professional anesthesiology societies and has also made a significant number of contributions to abstracts and presentations. Most recently, he presented at the SCA Annual Meeting on waxing and waning right ventricular function following the Bentall procedure. He is the author of an editorial in Anesthesia & Analgesia on transesophageal echocardiography and thermodilution-based cardiac output. Dr. Millan also participated in the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) Resident Scholar Program, through which he presented a poster titled “Isoflurane, Not Sepsis, Leads to Cytochrome aa3 Reduction in Rats” at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

In his free time, Dr. Millan enjoys music production, record collecting, hiking, and spending time with his family.
