Amir Jafari, D.O., joined us on Feb. 7 as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesia. He graduated from our Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship in June 2021 and has worked since then as an interventional pain physician at Pain Treatment Center in Ocala.
Dr. Jafari earned his medical degree from Midwestern University and completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he was also a chief resident.
He is a member of several professional anesthesiology societies and has also made a significant number of contributions to abstracts and presentations. Most recently, he was a coauthor on a presentation on spinal cord stimulation causing temporary neurogenic bladder that was presented at the North American Neuromodulation Society’s 2021 Annual Meeting.
Dr. Jafari has been involved in research on blocks in major lower abdominal surgery and on the effects of patient positioning with spinal anesthesia. As a resident, he participated in the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) Resident Scholar Program, through which he presented at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He has also participated in medical mission trips.
In his free time, Dr. Jafari enjoys weight training and spending time with his family.
