Two faculty in our Division of Pain Medicine and a former trainee have contributed two chapters in a new book on cancer pain management.
The book, titled Fundamentals of Cancer Pain Management, was published by Springer, Cham, in September 2021 and edited by Andrew Leitner, MD, and Christine Chang, MD. It provides an update on the available modalities to treat cancer pain and provides concise and organized recommendations for the practicing clinician. It is part of the Cancer Treatment and Research book series.
Rene Przkora, M.D., PhD., professor of anesthesiology, chief of the Division of Pain Medicine, and director of the Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship, is a coauthor on a chapter titled “Clinical Implications of Opioid Therapy.”
Przkora; Juan Mora, M.D., assistant professor of anesthesiology and medical director of the Pain Medicine Surgical Center; and Pavel Balduyeu, M.D., a graduate of our residency and Pain Medicine Fellowship, are also coauthors on a chapter titled “Peripheral Nerve Entrapments in Cancer Pain.”
