Dr. Przkora elected APPD director-at-large

Rene Przkora, MD, PhD

Congratulations to Rene Przkora, M.D., Ph.D., professor of anesthesiology and chief of the Pain Medicine Division, who has been elected a director-at-large of the Association of Pain Program Directors (APPD). His two-year term began in conjunction with the ASRA 20th Annual Pain Medicine Meeting this November.

Przkora served as the 2019-20 president of the APPD and the immediate past president from 2020-21. Through those leadership roles, he guided the organization and community through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The APPD is an independent nonprofit organization that promotes pain medicine education and career development for pain specialists and trainees. The UF Division of Pain Medicine has obtained several grants to support the mission of the APPD through educating trainees.

Przkora also directs the Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship at UF, which produces physicians who are not only technically skilled in interventional pain management, but who also become leaders in the field of pain medicine, including all aspects of acute and chronic pain in ambulatory and hospitalized patients.
