Two Residents Elected to Housestaff Council

Congratulations to third-year resident Andrew Neff, D.O., and second-year resident Alicia McLeod, M.D., who have been elected to serve as the anesthesiology representatives on the 2021-22 University of Florida College of Medicine Housestaff Council!

Neff will serve as hospital relations chair as part of the council’s Executive Committee. This will be McLeod’s second year serving on the council. In 2020-21, she served as vice chair for budget and finance on the Executive Committee, a major accomplishment for a first-year resident.

The Housestaff Council provides input to the Graduate Medical Education office on many issues, including education, training, facilities, and resources, while promoting the interests of the housestaff at large. The council was created to serve as a forum for housestaff to discuss concerns and appropriate funding for Gator Bites, social events, and resident lounges.

Each training program with residents or fellows may have a representative on the council. This year, 51 housestaff from across UF Health are serving on the council.

Congratulations, Drs. Neff and McLeod!
