The UF Department of Anesthesiology is joining the healthcare community nationwide in honoring the extraordinary physicians who have dedicated their careers to caring for others. National Doctors Day provides an opportunity to thank the physicians who provide the highest quality patient care and to recognize their sacrifices.
Doctors work long hours in demanding settings, providing patient care 365 days per year. They respond to late-night emergencies, stay updated on the latest advances in an ever-evolving field, and offer their expertise to the next generation of physicians. This year, we are exceptionally grateful for the courage, innovative thinking, and selflessness that our doctors have displayed while on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Doctors Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the first use of ether as an anesthetic for surgery by Dr. Crawford Long on March 30, 1842.
On behalf of the Leadership Team, thank you doctors for everything you do that contributes to our outstanding patient experience and the success of UF Health.
