Congratulations to Miguel A. Reina, MD, PhD, who has been named to the Editorial Board of the journal Clinical Anatomy.
Dr. Reina, who has been a Professor of Anesthesiology in the School of Medicine at the University CEU San Pablo since 2009, is serving as a yearlong Courtesy Professor in our department.
Clinical Anatomy is the official journal of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists and the British Association of Clinical Anatomists. It has an impact factor of 1.967.
Dr. Reina has been collaborating with members of our Acute and Perioperative Pain Medicine Division for the past several years; this achievement is a recognition of the entire research team, which has had several papers published in Clinical Anatomy. In September, Dr. Reina was the lead author of a paper titled “Case series of fluoroscopic findings and 3D reconstruction of human spinal MRIs of the space of Okada” published in the journal.
Dr. Reina’s research focuses on the microanatomy of human peripheral nerves and the ultrastructure of human spinal meninges. The purpose of Dr. Reina’s appointment is continued collaboration on research focusing on micro- and high-definition ultrasound for peripheral nerves. He also intends to create a day-long course related to these studies and results. This course may be offered to hospitals and universities nationally as well as internationally.
