Dr. Sangari accepted into College of Medicine Leadership Development Program

Taran Sangari, MD

Congratulations to Taran Sangari, MD, MBA, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, who has been accepted into the 2021 College of Medicine Leadership Development Program!

The program is designed for College of Medicine faculty who are current leaders at or above the level of Division Chief or equivalent. Only around 20 leaders are chosen to participate each year.

The objective is to improve the leadership capability of program participants by focusing on key competencies in four quadrants— build trust, create and communicate vision, generate alignment, and cultivate talent.

The program, now in its 10th year, is facilitated by UFHR Training and Organizational Development and led by Rebecca Younglove. The program meets eight times over 10 months, and each session focuses on a targeted area of leadership and how the concepts apply specifically for leaders in the COM. Through a combination of facilitated discussions and scenarios, leaders examine key challenges and develop new strategies to increase individual and team effectiveness. Additional training in UF administrative organization and policies is also covered.

Dr. Sangari serves as Associate Chief for the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia and Program Director for the Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship Program. He joined our department in 2016 from Valley Children’s Healthcare in Madera, California, where he was a Staff Anesthesiologist in the Department of Pediatric Anesthesia & Pain Medicine.
