We are pleased to announce the appointment of two faculty members to leadership roles in the Pain Medicine Division. Effective immediately, Sanjeev Kumar, MD, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, has been named Medical Director of the Pain Medicine Clinic at Springhill. Juan Mora, MD, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, has been named Medical Director of the Pain Medicine Surgical Center at Ayers.
Dr. Kumar, who originally joined UF Health Jacksonville in 2014 and came to UF Health Gainesville in 2016, has been instrumental in pioneering endoscopic spinal decompression at UF Health, further establishing us as a top-tier institution offering cutting-edge interventions to some of the most complex patients.
Dr. Mora, who joined us in 2018 after completing a fellowship in Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine here, conducted research in cervical spine contusion at the Mayo Clinic Foundation in Rochester, Minnesota, and has continued to demonstrate his strong research skills here at UF. Dr. Mora’s patient-centered mindset is reflected in his experience providing medical services to various underserved areas in Colombia.
These appointments are a testament to the hard work and dedication of these pain physicians and reflect our deep commitment to advancing the specialty.
