On October 18, 2019, our department hosted a simulation symposium for visiting Chinese anesthesiologists. The symposium titled “How to train a confident and competent anesthesiologist” introduced the most innovative simulation technologies for resident and fellow education and established an academic platform for anesthesiologist collaboration between the US and China. Seventeen visiting scholars from different parts of China participated in the event.
The one-day program was composed of six lectures in the morning and four hands-on simulation sessions in the afternoon. The hands-on sessions provided all participants the opportunity to experience the mixed virtual simulation technologies to assist their clinical management and critical event decision making. The symposium received superb feedback from attendees.
